Bridge over Bergen County

Time for some more satirical lyrics.

The title of the lyrics is, “Bridge over Bergen County” and it has to do with, needless to say, Chris Christie and Bridgett Anne Kelly and the lane closures of the George Washington Bridge back in September 2013,

The lyrics were written to the tune of Bridge Over Troubled Waters as sung by Simon and Garfunkel in 1969.Bridge Over Bergen County

A Jersey Democrat
And Feeling small
When tears are in your eyes
I will make you bawl

I’ll cause you grief
When times are rough
And friends just can’t be found
Like a bridge over Bergen County
I will shut lanes down
Like a bridge over Bergen County
I will shut lanes down

When you’re down and out
While on the bridge
When traffic backs way up
I will laugh at you

I said to “Kelly Girl”
Write those friends of mine
Time for a traffic jam
Like a bridge over Bergen County
I will shut lanes down
Like a bridge over Bergen County
I will shut lanes down

Get lost “Kelly Girl”
Just go away
You took the hit for me
And your check is on the way

See how they lie for me
If you need a friend
I’m sailing far behind
Like a bridge over Bergen County
I will shut lanes down
Like a bridge over Bergen County
I will shut lanes down

Again, anyone can repost or even use for a parody video – just acknowledge the author of the parody lyrics – Kevin B. Cavanaugh

  1. Ryan Oloughlin died a father to beautiful 16 year old daughter Abigail. He loved her. But that is unimportant to those who couldnt give a damn. He was a dad to an amazing kid.
